12th March 2007

Congratulations to Colin Farr who won the Ping PGA Ulster Grand Prix event at Kirkistown Castle yesterday...

"Yesterday's winner Farr carded level par 69 to take first spot with four birdies included. He pencilled in threes at the second and sixth holes, chipping in at the second after overshooting the surface with a three wood and then wedging to three inches at the sixth.

Those two shots were given back to the course when the Whitehead pro three-putted the short eighth hole and then missed the green at the ninth.
Farr went two-over-par with a double-bogey six at the 10th where he put his second approach into whin bushes and had to take a penalty drop but he finished strongly as he had begun.

A wedge to four feet set the winner up for birdie three at the 15th and he then polished of his round with birdie four at the last - a 15 feet putt, after a drive, three wood and nine iron to the green."
